Visits to the Smokies down by nearly 30%

It looks like about 28% fewer people visited the Smokies in February.  That’s compared to last Feb.  Visits are also down for the year.  Of course, the rockslides contribute to this, but the cold weather also played a role.  You can find more details on visitation at the citizen-times.com article below…

  1. Anytime I hear anything negative about the smoky mountains, it saddens me….as with the declining number of annual visitors. I know the economy is bad, times are hard, and money is tight. But I feel so fortunate now that we’re retired, that we live close enough that we can still visit the park twice a year.
